Yes, this site is better in terms of wind speed and thermal activity, but more difficult for landing. We can clear up the fast growing trees on the right-hand side for landing, but it is still too closed to the racing track in base B, so simultaneously racing and landing is still not possible. Anyway, I agree that it will be safer and easier for landing on the right-hand side particularly when the wind is strong.

We had a few crashes yesterday, some are purely accident and some are due to human error.
Kelvin's Demo was crashed after launched, don't cry Kelvin! Check out the video for your memory. Sorry I would say that both the launcher and the pilot himself contributed to the crash, even though it was a bad launch, it seems that the pilot should have sufficient time to correct the path of the plane, but somehow he turned the plane back to the slope instead.

Image

Image

Image

Image

(Porsche)

Stanley,

http://hk.apple.nextmedia.com/template/ ... d=12769941

FNS's lift is excellent even at the light conditon during the match. It is a good F3F site excepted for landing as we have some accidents. Landing towards CD is a real hazard which we should look into it. Alternatively, I'd suggest landing at right hand side away from point B but we have to clear up the site a bit. We should do so before next match.

PS big thanks for CM's cold Cola :!:

BTW, I can't remember who takes the spare poles from me early this year. They are fishing poles with individual slim black cover. Please check your car.

I've checked my car and couldn't find any spare poles there. Our (old) poles were hidden in Ma On Shan, so for southerly wind in the summer we will unlikely go back to Ma On Shan for a while. Please, fellow pilots go and check your car looking for the poles.

By the way, I think the landing right on the CD area last week is potentially dangerous. Next time if we have contest in Fei Ngo Shan, we should try to land on the right-hand side after clearing those small trees there. Since it takes time to walk to the landing area, we should use a pipeline policy similar to what we had in Leung King; the pilot who finished the run should walk to the right hand side for landing, but the next pilot to race does't need to wait the previous pilot to land, instead he should launch as soon as possible, then after he finished the run, the previous pilot who has already walked to the landing area can land. I think this will speed up the contest and also much safer.

Should we try this policy next month if we have southerly wind again?

Ah ! !

I like to take pictures, but don't have as much interest in sorting out the photos

OK, here are some of the happy faces on MOS:

http://www.hkrcss.org/F3FGroup/F3F_mainC.html
