Hello scale enthusiasts,

Be reminded that there will be a scale glider contest and BBQ in the coming December. Please prepare your scale sailplanes and let it be a great gathering.

CM,

Will it be a contest or just a show time? Please clarify this as a lot of pilots just want to have a Fun fly day with their scales gliders, they do not want to joint any contest.

Ken

Ken,

I think the HKRCSS web site has a very detail description on that event. :)

Stanley,

I will join the BBQ and the contest (using my not-so-scale old ASK23  ). Please reserve 1 place for me.

For the concern of Ken, do you think it is better to change the nature of the event from "contest" to "gathering" in order to attract more people to join? "Contest" seems to be more interesting and can encourage fellows to build good scale planes. But if this may deter those budding enthusiasts to join then a "gathering" in relaxing atmosphere should be a better choice.

My opinion is that just don't take "contest" too serious. After all, "contest" is still a game. You lose nothing in losing the game, and what you win may only be a beautifully printed "cert" coming out from Stanley's printer :) The process in achieving the goal of building a scale is what we really gained. Let's join and show off your scale models :o

Hi C.M.,

I agree with you that the event should not have too much emphaisis on contest.
I guess we might have a kind of simple scoring system for good looking scale gliders both on ground and on flight. The scores will be given by all other scale gliders presented.

I am sure a fun fly event will be what we are looking for.

Please help to promote the event. With a week to go, so far only three registered!

Please, WE NEED MORE PARTICIPANTS!

在英國,這類聚會好像是叫 scale event。

Dear fellows,

Who is the contest director?? Please make decision. Shall we postpone or change to other slope?

如果當日吹北風,問題都不大,無需要改期。我

If we are going to 龍蝦灣北位, we have to clear up the grass a bit in order to allow stabling of some many big planes.

The landing field is much larger than Shek O and it shouldn't be any problem for 4m planes. In fact, we have to clear up the path from hiking trail to flying site because the grass is very long and dense like the UST site.

:D 其實西貢科大北位也是一個相當不錯的選擇,但因好久也未有到過該處,不知道現在情況如何?如果野草生長不是太長的話,是很適合大幾降落的,各位不妨可以考慮一下!

Can I use my new Airliner for the contest?
This plane is 像真機 but not glider?

Hi Tsz Ming,

I think Power Scale Soaring model is also allowed but they are on different class. Your Airliner is definitely a PSS model, so you are welcome to join the scale event, however, we would welcome your company to donate a prize for the contest - a production version of Airline would be nice!

Let me know if you would join the BBQ as soon as possible since I have to accurately order sufficient BBQ food in advance.

Dear Stanley,

I and Pauline will join the event.
For the BBQ, I have to find a driver before I could make the decision. You know, I am such an alcoholic, and could not have a BBQ without beer.

Hendry, would you like to drive me home??
