Post subject:  想玩 aero tow

尋日研究過個新場或者可以玩 aero tow. 如果拖 2.5m - 3m 滑翔機﹐隻拖機要幾大﹖我櫃桶底有一疊未郁過既四衝程 engine,最大係 OS120 surpass﹐依家又唔再玩 power 機﹐唸著整番隻拖機過下 scale 癮。如果 120 四衝唔夠力﹐可以班到部 20cc 電油 engine, 所以動力唔係問題﹐不過用也機好呢﹖

We have an ugly plane with an coconut tree on it, I do not know the model name but it has a 91engine on it and only miss the bars in between the wing and the body, and I don't think it difficult to make another pair fo it, we talk about that 2-3 months ago but we are too busy and dump the plan, Y.C., if you are interesting, you can have a look in our workshop, as I know, it did that before!

佐治應最有資格回答,話晒佢架拖機曾在《南生圍》拖架 4 m DG800 升空。最後,power 勁到繩都扯斷。

客氣!客氣! :D 其實我地有架現成拖機,104吋Piper J-3 Cub,OS FT300孖般水平對向50CC四衝Engine,試過好輕鬆拖隻4M 7KG ASW27,不過ASW27個機主玩AEROTOW好多年好有經驗,比著我控都唔敢囉。
YC 如果你地想試AEROTOW,拖機方面唔洗操心,快D整機快D試,hehe....(魔鬼)

上次《南生圍》 aero-tow,「占士」駕 Paul Wong 的 DG800,扯到斷繩時,架 DG800 根本巳反轉,而且又在條河上空,無 thermal。到架機擺平、機頭指回來的時候,巳損失了好多高度。按肉眼所見的下沈速度,架機一定落水。

但「占士」臨危不亂,好鎮定,elevator 控得好,無多餘動作,架機結果捱返岸邊石堤。機頭要大修,但就避免了架機掉落條臭河,變相 total loss。

整緊,呢個星期日去試, :D 我架機得 3.2m,希望唔會被部 "OS 50cc 水平對向四衝程" (好形) 扯開兩邊 . . .

Willy friend,
The tow line was not long enough last time!
The towline should be long enough to avoid turbulence from the propeller affecting the sailplane. And, towline should be stiff and not elastic! Wish to see your planes get towed.

早前有人在近麗晶花園果邊玩power機就比差人請走,原因係麗晶有人投訴
但這邊就唔知有冇事啦

Hi YC, seems like the Lamma site is quite suitable for aero-tow. Do you think if they allow us to fly the tow plane there? Gas and 4-stroke engines are a lot more silent then the helicoper. If it is not possible then we can consider a electric tug. Can you ask Uncle about this?
