Thanks for organizing the event. I looking forward meeting you and the gangs again. Not forgetting the Taiwanese and Koreans.

We planning to come in 2 days before the race to get a bit of practice. I will arrange with you as the dates get closer.

各位香港飛友,
今年的Typhoon Race 2010報名特別擁躍,國外的參賽者已有35名,由於比賽人數上限定在50位,香港就可能只有15位名額。現在已不再接受額外報名了。

由於香港想參賽的人數多過限額,我們要選出15名最佳的高手去迎戰今次比賽,所以在選擇上要花多少少心思。去年我們定參賽資格時由於人數不是太多,便以2009年聯賽的成積來排名, 其目的主要都是選擇最好身手的飛友出外參加重要的國際賽事,如Viking Race等。既然定了排名就也拿來作今次Typhoon Race2010的選拔。本來如果名額多,這個排名沒實質用途,但是在今次名額少的時候,我們今年卻反而加人了許多新血,當中有很多有潛資的高手,所以我們今次選拔真的要好好思量,把這批新進師兄都納人選拔範圍,好攘他們為香港而戰,創造佳積!
今日比賽時跟各位飛友溝通,收集各位的意見,希望可以改善現時只以2009年成積計算排名的方法,好攘今年才加入的高手有機會被選拔為香港增光,有見及此,經過細心思量,我本人提出一個較為公平的選拔方法,新人也好,舊人也好,希望可以迎合各位飛友,接受這個選拔方案。

我提出的新方案是這樣:

2009年我們賽了5場,今年才加入的新人基本上沒有參與這些賽事,所以如果只以這5場計算對他們非常不公。今年到目前為止我們也賽了5場,大部份新人和舊人都有參與這些賽事。如果我們能把今年的5場和去年的5場合並計算,對新舊人來說都應該是較為公平。OK,在這10場賽事裡面我們可以拿飛友個人5場最佳的成積總和來計算排名,我想這個是最公平和最有效的方法,又可以選出成積最好的飛友代表香港,對新人、舊人來說這個選法也是最好的compromise,你們有沒有意見?希望大家可以為大局著想,為香港迎戰TR2010創造佳積!

如果大家沒有反對或改動意見,我會計算出排名給大家看看。
還有,我會跟台灣,韓國方面溝通,希望他們能把參賽人數維持在較低的水平,我相信香港可以參賽的人數在15至20名之內!當然如果外國賽手最後有事選擇退出,名額就會由香港飛友補上。

雖然2010年新加入的機友只能用今年5場積分計算,但這方法的確比較公平,最少也被列入計算之內! :wink:

You asked Stanley on the arrangement of 10th league vs TR2010, and Stanley suggested to discard TR2010 results for pilots who are not taking part in the TR2010 races.
Since there are a lot of pilots who will not be able to join TR2010, that mean they have less chance to advance in the league ! ?

Please consider to use TR2010 results as 10th league result for those who are taking part in the TR race as suggested by Stanly.
or take the 2nd option, to select another day for the 10th league which every pilot can join.

No, it is not what Stanley means. There are so many misunderstandings between the SMP members. I wonder how you guys can be a team :lol: :lol:

Yes, those cannot join TR will have one less race in 2010. At the same time average score will be used instead of total score. Let's say there are 10 matches and one is from TR, those who can join TR will be total score / 10. Those who cannot will be total score / 9.

Both of the Stanley's suggestions are fair to all pilots. My preference is to add a league before the TR. We have 3 days holiday before the TR (National day + Sat and Sun). Lets have an October match. Team Hong Kong can use it as a practice too :o

I understand what Stanley said.
I mean if a pilot can't join the TR race, he will have one less chance to get good score (1000 points!?) on top of what he alread got.

Anyway, I support your idea to run the Oct. league race before the TR.

Dear F3F pilots,

Well, we have discussed before that we better limit the number of pilots in TR2010 to make the contest more practical. In view of the difficult decision to assign quota for each country, we hold an organizing committee meeting this evening to consider several options seriously. Because we really want to promote Typhoon Race as a regional contest, and we are happy that TR2010 is so popular, in order not to make disappointment to the enthusiastic pilots, our committee has made a decision that we accept the current registration of 60 pilots in total into the race, that means the composition of

Hong Kong 25
Taiwan 15
Korea 13
Singapore 4
Australia 2
Japan 1

Of course, we will no longer accept registration and freeze the list as it is now. In case if there is drop out, the place will be void. Sorry for this ad hoc composition, I hope you don't mind. Perhaps, next year onward, the hosting country can schedule a 4 or 5 day contest in order to accommodate more pilots.

In view of the large number of contestants, our committee has considered some practical ways to increase the contest duration and also improve the efficiency in running the contest. Hopefully with good wind we can get at least 10 rounds of contest.

First, because most of overseas pilots will arrive one day earlier to have some practice, we will remove the practice session in the morning of the first day contest. Second, we will do the pilot registration a day earlier in the hotel or on site to save some time.
Third, we will push the start time of the contest 1 hour earlier at 8:00 am and finish half an hour late at 6:00pm. We will enforce a separated landing and 30 seconds waiting time rule seriously, landing and next launch will be carried out simultaneously if flying site allows. With 60 pilots and good wind, we will probably get 4 to 5 rounds a day.

Please let me know if you have any comments on this arrangement.

The design is artistic and has illusion of F3F flying and an identity of Typhoon Race.

I hope the upper part of this logo can be re-used in subsequent Typhoon Races, the hosting country and year can just be changed accordingly.

近日去過 造T-恤 風褸問過價一件風褸包印logo 四色,加色要加錢。所以最好控制係四色內。Thk.

www.smartmodel.com.hk will be a part of gift sponsor . i will offer a 10 channel radio set for the top winner . My TF model factory will offer some composite products electic ducted fan model .and some radio-transmiter tray , Hope we can make this contact much happy !And please offer us a small position to have our TF model and smartmodel banner .And one more good news. Tfmodel (my factory) are starting the vacum bag and hollow mold products in the future year , so the molded models will appear soon . the first step are nimbus -4d 4 meter model and a 3.5 meter duo-discus . it is a good news for my personally ,and business partner are agaree we widen the products range to glider direction .so we have join the competition in F3f and composite "market " .
