Hi Stanley,

Since there is a team award, I think you should put the team entry on the registration form. :)

Dear Stanley,

Rule of selection is already in place. Our league rule stipulates that :

2.2 Participation in international F3F contests

The league winners for the current year will automatically qualify for representing Hong Kong to compete next year in Viking Race, Typhoon Race, or any future world FAI F3F event. However, the qualification is only valid for joining one international contest. If more than one international contest are available, the pilots next on the line will have the priority to choose to go. In case if a qualified pilot relinquishes his right, the pilot next on the line will be qualified. The qualified pilots must confirm whether they will join the international contest two months in advance so that pilots next on the line can prepare to take up their positions. All qualified pilots must be local pilots who permanently live in Hong Kong.

It would not be a situation that first come, first serve (sorry to mak and donny).

However, the above statement is copied from from league rules 2010. I cannot remember the rules for 2009. To be fair to everyone, we shall keep our agreed arrangement.

Any view from others fellows ?

8) 8)

因為根本無人肯去( or have time to go)。

Old league rule is more or less on the same principle:

The league winners for the current year will automatically qualify for representing Hong Kong to compete next year in Viking Race or any future world FAI F3F event. However, the qualification is only valid for joining one international contest. If more than one international contest are available, the pilots next on the line will have the priority to choose to go. In case if a qualified pilot relinquishes his right, the pilot next on the line will be qualified. The qualified pilots must be local pilots who permanently live in Hong Kong.

Typhoon Race should be considered as an international contest based on this principle. As stipulated in the league rule, it is NOT first-come-first-serve but based on the result of 2009. Local pilots should enroll 2 months before.

In order to maintain the enthusiasm of local pilots, I'd suggest increasing the quota to 25 for local pilots and 50 in total.

If the race runs in MOS left slope and keeps zero waiting time, it is not difficult to run more than 4 rounds per day as we did in Wales. Even at LHW 2 years ago, we could still run 3 rounds for 40 pilots with a late start at 11am. Therefore, we'd have 4 rounds per day at MOS and 3 at other slopes. It is good enough for any international contest.

(However, the qualification is only valid for joining one international contest.)

Hello,

My original thought in writing down the rule is for the qualified pilots to join one international contest outside Hong Kong, this is very obvious because we fight so hard to get the qualification is to allow us to go overseas to participate in prestigious international event. So, in fact, the rule should be written like this:

Quote:
2.2 Participation in international F3F contests

The league winners for the current year will automatically qualify for representing Hong Kong to compete next year in Viking Race, Typhoon Race, or any future world FAI F3F event. However, the qualification is only valid for joining one international contest outside Hong Kong.

If this is the case, and since TR2010 is holding in Hong Kong locally, the qualification in 2009 shouldn't be applied to TR2010.

Anyway, it is my mistake to write down the rule less specifically, so I don't argue with you guys this time.
So according to this current version of rule, I have only one chance to go for international contest, then I would choose TR2010, Viking Race 2010 is just a contest that I would go personally without the regard of 2009 league ranking.

OK, back to the issue if the rule is as my original thought that set for joining one international contest outside Hong Kong, then since we still have quota limitation even though the future TR contest may be held locally in Hong Kong, we still need a qualification, so I would suggest to further modify the rule to allow the qualified pilots to join one more international contest held locally in Hong Kong. So the rule should be further modified as:

Quote:
2.2 Participation in international F3F contests

The league winners for the current year will automatically qualify for representing Hong Kong to compete next year in Viking Race, Typhoon Race, or any future world FAI F3F event outside Hong Kong. However, the qualification is only valid for joining one international contest outside Hong Kong and one more international contest held locally in Hong Kong.

What do think guys? We can improve the rules which will be applied to next year 2011 qualification.

By the way, we have set the quota limit for TR2010 to 50, although practically it is better be kept at 40, so there are flexibility that most if not all local pilots can join TR2010.
I would expect that 25 of local pilots at most plus 25 overseas pilots can be accommodated. Therefore, please proceed to register first; the final list will be sorted out according to the real situation when time approaches.

In this case, so do I :!:

Stanley, are you sure there will be 25 pilots from overseas ? I bet it's unlikely

Dear fellow pilots,

Would you be interested in helping to design a logo for the Typhoon Race 2010 in Hong Kong?
A good looking logo for TR2010 is neccessary to attract more visitors to our site.
The logo will also be printed on the contest T-shirts or wind jackets, and also on the trophies.

Your help is very much appreciated!
If your design is selected, we will award you with a contest T-shirt in return.

Cheers!

Hi Stanley,
